Shepherd's Chapel
This e-mail exchange is a follow-up to Satan the Father of Cain? The e-mailer's comments are in black and enclosed in "greater than" and "lesser than" signs. My comments are in red.
Exchange One
Hi, I was just checking your site, looking for verses dealing with pre-mortal existence, when I noticed an exchange with a man named GW about Satan being the father of Cain. I know what and who he is! Just for your information, you might like to have the following information on a Cult that is sweeping the nation; "Shepherd's Chapel" run by Arnold Murray. Here is some info on it.
This man, Arnold Murray is on TV 24 hours a day in some places! He is leading many poor souls away from the truth! Read the following site's "studies"..... It is made by one of his students, they have all his teachings, and the result of his teachings is apparent in his students.
He claims to love the races. He claims that there are many races that attend his church, and he provides video of some, on his website http://www.shepherdschapel.com He often rails against the "skin heads."
On his live show, of Dec. 28 1998 he even whipped out a gun, when a man stormed in his studio! He said "here, show him this 9 millimeter!" Then put a briefcase on his desk, and grabbed the gun! The comedy channel even showed clips of it!
Some of the things Murray teaches:
a. Foundation is the serpent seed doctrine. Eve and Adam had sex with Satan; Eve first, then Adam. Satan was the "fruit", the "tree", and the "snake", in that story.
b. Eve got pregnant with Satan's son and with Adam's son. Cain and Able were twins; but Cain was Satan's son.
c. Cain's descendants are the "Kenites" who went on to become scribes and corrupted the Bible. They also are the people who are presently living in Israel, because only people who believe in Jesus are "true" Jews. And this truth about the Kenites is the big mystery of the Bible!
Only those churches in the Revelation who knew the truth about "true Jews" were the ones that God was pleased with! And Jesus did tell the story of the Wheat and the Tares (which were weeds that looked just like wheat, but had black heads, btw) in which he said that Satan was the planter of the tares! This means that he is planting literal people who look like they are good. But aren't. After all, he does use the Greek word sperma for the bad seed, instead of the other Greek word speiro that he uses for the good seed......see?
d. Only Bible that can be trusted is the KJV 1611, and the original TR—which can be traced back to Antioch. The other Scriptures have been corrupted by the Kenites.
e. The "lost tribes of Israel" migrated up to the British Isles. Of course they are white skinned, because Adam was white skinned and the true sons of Adam are too. These true Israelites don't know that they are Israelites! But the Lord knows who they are, and he will save them. None will be lost.
f. Noah's son Ham had sex with his mother. That is why Noah was so mad.
g. All non-white races were made on the sixth day of creation, while God made a special man "Adam" on the EIGHTH day of creation. But one must remember that God said these races were 'very good'—they just weren't who God wanted to make his covenant with, so he made this special man; Adam, on the eighth day. And God, for his own purposes, wanted to keep the line "pure" for Christ to come. So Adam's descendants are not to mix with the other races for marriage.
h. The flood of Noah was only a local flood; this is how the Kenites made it.
i. Being "born again" means that one must be born in a flesh body, because we all existed in spirit bodies before THIS earth age, which is the second earth age. He teaches pre-mortal existence.
j. Good people are the good angels that stayed with God in the first earth age. The bad people are the wicked angels that followed Satan in his rebellion that happened in the first earth age.
k. During the first earth age, while we were in our spirit bodies, we walked the earth with Dinosaurs!
l. The first earth age ended because of Satan's fall. It ended with a world wide flood. This is how the earth "became" void in Gen. 1:2. This earth age is to perfect us.
m. The Anti-Christ will say that he IS Christ, and that he has come to "rapture" out all his people.
n. There is no rapture-ever. This is false teaching. Those who teach it have been "sealed" by Satan. They are deceived.
o. That God will set loose the fallen angels, and "as in the days of Noah" as in Gen. chap 6, they will again begin to have sex with humans, producing half devil people. If you do not have your head "sealed" by God, meaning accept the truth of the "serpent seed doctrine".......then you will get pregnant by these fallen angels—literally! Of course there is already the Kenites, but these will be worse, I guess....
p. Separation of races. When the Bible says that Noah was "Perfect in his generations" this means that he did not mix his race with others.
q. Must not pray out loud. Satan will hear, and get you with it! And you are not suppose to pray to Jesus. You don't need to! You pray to the Father, in the name of the Son.
r. Modalism—God the Father and the Son are just God in different forms. Just like I am a MOTHER to my children, and WIFE to my husband....God is Father sometimes, and Son sometimes. The Holy Spirit is just a word for God's 'power force.'
s. Puts strong emphasis on Edgar Cayce and Nostradomus.
t. Biblical numerics.
u. Annihilation instead of Hell.
v. The book of Esther is a Kenite lie!
w. Purim is a Kenite holiday and so is Easter.
x. The book of Jude is describing the Kenites and fallen angels.
y. Since God is light and Satan is darkness, those who use the Solar calendar are of God, while those who use the lunar calendar are of the devil. Soooo, they celebrate "Passover" at a different time than the Jews even do!
z. If you don't understand some of this stuff, it is best if you just "put it on a shelf".....and come back to it later. Because God reveals things to people at different times. You may still be too immature to understand it!
Murray uses all kinds of pressure tactics. Calling people ignorant, and other things, if they do not see things the way he does. His favorite tactic is the one described in that last one. I call it the "emperor's new clothes" tactic. No one wants to think that they are not wise, are not smart enough to understand....just like in the children's fairy tale; so they say that they see the "emperor's new clothes".....But of course the emperor is naked! It takes a child to point this out. "A child will lead them"......If Murray's heresies are pointed out, and refuted by the "child"—the truth of Christ—I think many would begin to see that Murray is naked.
So many get trapped into believing this man. To them he seems so knowledgeable. And he always says to "check him out".......And most do not! Of course if you come to a different conclusion than he, you will be sarcastically criticized!
Many poor people are looking for answers. Poor souls who stay up late at night, mistakenly think that God has lead them to Murray. His "ministry" is growing everyday. When you first see him, you just think he is a boring, nice old man. But he is not harmless, not humble and I wish that more information would be put out on him. If the Jehovah's Witnesses had that much TV time, wouldn't there be more people refuting that time?
Thank you for your consideration,
L.S.

Thank you for the info. It is very interesting, and disturbing. With your permission, I would like to post what you wrote so others will be informed about this group.
Exchange Two
>That would be wonderful. I enjoy your site! Very informative. You handle those people so well! The love of Christ really shines through! Thank you for the work you are doing. My heart too, is very burdened with this apostasy that is so rampant today. But our Lord did warn us, didn't he?!
I think you do a much better job at handling these poor souls who are mixed up than I do.
Would you send me a link, when you put the letter up?
Thank you,
May our Father in Heaven give you wisdom and strength for the days ahead!

>Gary:
I can't say that I agree with ANYONE—minister or otherwise—100% and Dr. Arnold Murray is no exception. However, I have him to thank for getting me into the Word and for that I thank God. I believe it Providential, in fact, how I found out about his ministry. I know you're not interested in that.
I have also studied "with" Dr. Murray for quite a few years and have never heard him say that Adam had sexual relations with Satan. Possibly, he did (?), though. It's not hard to believe that Satan could take different forms as he is a supernatural being. Of course, I believe he has been "locked" away since Jesus told Satan to "get behind" him. The truth of the matter is that no one can prove their theories or interpretations of the Word 100%. You may think you have all the answers but I would say that is highly arrogant and dangerous. I mean no disrespect, you may be very knowledgeable on God's Word but for anyone to assume they have all the answers is treading on shaky ground.
Is Shepherd's Chapel a cult? Indeed, I think not. I imagine cults as commonly thought of, as the Moonies or something of the like where brainwashing, the giving up of material things usually given to the "church"), and the separation of its members from families, friends and society in general, except in the cause of recruiting more members. They usually live off somewhere separate from the other population—communal living is common, I think, among members of cults. Indeed, I've never heard of such things as being connected with Shepherd's Chapel. The church itself is located in a small rural town of Gravette, Ark. in the N'west corner of the state. The actual congregation that attends the church services at the chapel itself is no more than about 250 people last I heard.
Would folks that enjoy listening to Rev. Billy Graham, for instance, be considered as being a cult group? Things that Dr. Murray may teach may not commonly be taught in what you may think of as main stream religion but he is by no means the originator or the only pastor to teach these things that you think are controversial or wrong. I study my Bible using the Strong's Concordance as a study tool. I use my own mind with the help of the Holy Spirit to guide me as I am sure most folks do that study with Dr. Murray. He ALWAYS says, "Don't take this man's word or any other man's word for it, check it out for yourselves." How many pastors do you know that CONSTANTLY encourage their congregation to do that? I have found that to be most unusual, indeed. Maybe he could be considered extremist for teaching the Bible chapter by chapter and verse by verse because that is truly unusual—I haven't founds any other pastor that does.
Well, I know I could argue some specifics with you but I say, "Why bother?" I'm positive that I've wasted my time in writing you because this will never get read and there's even less chance of it actually making it on your web site because it's an opposing point of view. Anyway, I just did it for myself. If by chance this does get read or even posted, I wanted to let others know that we that study with Dr. Murray do think for ourselves, are not in a cult and are not "mind numbed robots."
Sincerely,
C.W.

Just to clarify a couple of points. I did not write an article on the Shepherd's Chapel; I simply posted an e-mail with info about from someone. But the e-mailer also included a link to the Shepherd's Chapel's Web site, which I retained so people could check it out for themselves. If the e-mailer was incorrect on any point, my apologies. But when I get the chance, I'll post your e-mail as follow-up to it.
If you read the e-mails on my site, you'll see I often post e-mails from people who disagree with me, provided they do not get too "nasty" about it. And I read all e-mails sent to me, even though if I don't have the time to respond to everyone—that is, unless the e-mail contains any "four-letter words." If It does, I immediately delete it as soon I as I read such a word.
That said, as for what a "cult" is, you can define it from a sociological or a theological perspective. What you're referring to are sociological points, but theological points need to be considered as well. See my list of the Characteristics of a Cult for details in this regard.
> Gary:
Thank you for taking the time to read my email—figured it would end up unread in your "trash bin." I appreciate your reply. I admit that I didn't take the time to scan your entire website as time is always in short supply and the Internet is a great consumer of time. I read the first email and assumed it was the opinion of "owner" of the website. I wouldn't dream of cursing at you or anyone on a subject because that usually, in my opinion, only demonstrates a lack of knowledge. These days, people tend to get rabid at a difference of opinion rather than to peaceably argue a point........alas, this is a subject in itself..............
I plan on exploring your website again in the near future.
Thanks again,
C.W.
