Gary:
I am a pre-seminary student. I have taken one year of classical Greek and will be taking a year's worth of Biblical Greek over the summer. I am currently pursuing a Greek Major at Calvin College and will be taking more Greek after that and Hebrew at the Protestant Reformed Theological Seminary. I am looking for some software that would allow me to create my own Bible translation. I would like to base it off of Robinson's Majority Text. I am probably just going to use this for my own personal notes but may wish to publish it some time in the distant future. I know you have already done this so I thought you might be able to help. Is there any software that allows you to create footnotes also? Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Charles

I used BibleWorks almost exclusively while working on my translation. It is truly an excellent program and the best one available for doing original language studies. There is a window in BibleWorks for typing in, but I closed it and typed my translation in MS Word. I resized the programs horizontally so I could see both at once. And, of course, MS Word would allow you to add footnotes.
I also referred to Biblesoft's PC Study Bible and the Online Bible. And these are excellent programs for general Bible study. But BibleWorks is the best, IMO, for language studies.
